DrupalCamp Donetsk 2011 was a great success!

On 25-27th of November in Donetsk (Ukraine) there was DrupalCamp, an international event related to the content management system Drupal. The event gathered more the 170 people from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Venues of the DrupalCamp were conference-halls of Shachtar Plaza и Ramada hotels. While the conference there were 20 sessions, 5 BoFs, code-sprint and a party. Elloria rock band performed some Drupal songs, rock covers and their own themes. Being a leader of DrupalCamp Donetsk 2011, it worth to mention that the big help in organization I recieved from alumni and students of the Donetsk National Technical University: Vladimir Kolos, Kirill Roskoliy, Alexander Danilenko, Slavko Sokolov. Also I want to thank Vladislav Bogatyrov, who have helped me in all difficulties and solved lot's of organizational problems. The pass to the DrupalCamp was free, thanks to all sponsors and the Drupal Association, which awarded DrupalCamp Donetsk with a grant.

On the DrupalCamp website attendees are leaving positive feedback. They liked that on the event there were many interesting people: web developers, themers, IT directors, which were interesting to talk with and share knowledge. Beside interesting sessions and informal talks on the breaks, people liked a party and a code-sprint. There were also BoFs session which were held in a special room and people could schedule their own session on the DrupalCamp website. For the code-sprint we had planned topics. Yuri Gerasimov with a group of developers all over the Ukraine ported Draggable Views module for the 7th version of Drupal and together with Alexey Gaydabura we have written patch for the Views module.

On the DrupalCamp Donetsk 2011 there was an Alexander Shvets, creator of drupal.ua and organizer of the first Drupal event in Ukraine. He led a group of developers who were working on the improving of http://api.drupal.ru and allowing it to work with the Drupal 7. One of the BoFs were related to the Drupal education in universities. Many companies are ready to help teachers of higher educational institutes, to create Drupal courses and to train them.
